A passport asks for real, specific things: what a product is made from, where it was made, how much is recycled, and where it ends up. Most of that already sits in your PIM, your ERP, or a spreadsheet, and the rest sits with the suppliers who made the parts. We track it down, fill the gaps, and turn it into a passport we host for you.
What building a passport actually takes

Getting a passport live is mostly about managing your data. The fields you need already exist in most cases, just spread across your systems and your suppliers rather than sitting in one place. Here is the path, and where we do the work alongside you.

Find the data you already hold
Most of what a passport needs exists, but it is scattered across your PIM, ERP, spec sheets, and supplier declarations. We track down each field and mark the gaps.

Collect what's missing, with your suppliers where we come in most
This is the part most brands underestimate. Material composition, recycled content, provenance, and test data often sit with suppliers rather than with you. We run that collection alongside your team, chasing the sources and getting the answers into a consistent format.

Check every field
We compare every record against your category requirements and score how complete it is.

Put it live
The passport lives at a permanent web address that resolves under the GS1 Digital Link standard, readable by a customer on their phone and by an auditor.

Keep it up to date
Specs change, suppliers change, the rules harden. Every edit is logged with a time and a name, so the passport stays current and you can always show what changed and when.
Where we stand
Start before the rules are final.
The ESPR textile delegated act is expected around 2027, with compliance following into late 2028 or 2029. Our schemas track the published acts and update with them. We don't pretend to have a definitive field list when the act isn't final.
But we do get your data foundation in place so that when the act is confirmed, compliance is a simple execution task rather than a huge discovery project. The brands that wait for the final specification are the ones that will be in trouble in 2027. We work with the published material now and update as it hardens, keeping you ahead of the timeline.

The year in a schema name is a version, not a deadline. Batteries carry the one binding near-term date, 18 February 2027, and that schema is next. More categories land on the published delegated-act timetable; when an act is published, we build to it. See the full timeline on the DPP page.

DPP compliance is not a snapshot. Regulators and procurement teams want to see what changed, when, and who made the call. Every TalkPod passport carries a full field-level change history: timestamped, attributed, and reversible. If a materials declaration changes because a supplier updated their spec, that change is logged, dated, and visible to the compliance team. You are not piecing it together from email threads.
